A group of U3A members recently spent a very enjoyable day on a coach trip with Geoff Phoenix to Llangollen, where we boarded the steam train to Carrog and had a very pleasant lunch in the Grouse Inn.  We then returned to Llangollen and spent some time there before returning home.  Even the weather was kind to us.

Eileen Lewis opened her garden to visitors in June. The National Garden Schemes (NGS) supports many charities.  The charity chosen on this day was Claire House our local children's hospice.  Volunteers from Claire House provided tea/coffee and some very nice cakes.  The garden created by Eileen was such a pleasure to see.  I personally was impressed with the many sitting areas, as my favourite activity in a garden is to sit and enjoy other peoples hard work!

I hope you enjoy the slide show - just some of the aspects of Eileen's garden.

On 1st July a pleasant day was enjoyed by members who came along from Preston Brook to Lymm on the Wirral Narrowboat Trust canal boat.  We had a few showers but fortunately it was dry when we spent an hour at Lymm having lunch.

A very successful day out was enjoyed by the group who visited the Holker Hall Garden Festival in Cumbria by coach on 4th June.  We were blessed with very good weather and a good time was had by all.  Some members requested that the same trip take place next year!
